I want to show how sheets of siding join over the wall framing and would like to dim the framing. I thought I would stack two viewports and grey out the one that includes the framing. But I can’t figure out how. I found instructions by Dave R. that required three layers, but I was not able to get it to work. Any ideas?

Justin Gier of The SketchUp Essential has a Layout video showing overlays by placing copies on top of each other with each view port being a different scene. This link may be what you are looking for but he has lot more others as well!
