Help with Sketchup + Vray + Lumion PC Build

I’m planning to build to my wife a render node at home. She works mainly with archviz and event 3D rendering on Vray for sketchup (sometimes lumion). Due to her studies she’s working on a laptop with the current config: https://1921681254.mx/

  • Ryzen 7 5800H

  • 32GB DDR4 3200mhz memory

  • GeForce RTX 3060 6GB

I’m planning to build a render node for her but I’m kinda lost which should be better for the money.

I found some good deals in for Xeon E5-2683 V4 (16 core/32 threads, 2.10Ghz base and 3.0 Ghz turbo) + 32/64GB DDR4 ECC Memory + RTX 3070 8GB (or maybe a cheaper model and a Nvidia Tesla)

As my understanding sketchup wouldn’t benefit of processors cores/threads, however she would still work in the laptop and use the other machine just to render in Vray and/or Lumion.

Is this configuration good enough or you would recommend something different? My budget is USD 1500-ish.

Thanks

Video memory is important and the 6gb 3060 is a bit small. Instead of going to a 3070 with its 8gb you can get a 3060 with 12gb.
I use Enscape and would gladly trade my 2070 for a 3060 with its 12gb over a 3070

Have you looked at whether or not an external GPU can be used for rendering with vray and lumion?
If it works, it might be easier and more effective than a render node.
