Is the one in the foreground what you are expecting to see?

there’s so much weird geometry in yours it’s hard to tell what’s to keep and what’s to go.

yesss!!!
i was able to file the squares with the line tools… but the round one never!!
how did you do it?

I practically started over. I copied the bottom face from yours over to the side. I then used Push/Pull to extrude it to the full height. Next I drew the edges for the recess and pushed the center section down. That’s all there is to it.
