[Help] Plugin to flatten 3D furniture into 2D for export to AutoCAD?

Hey. I’m fairly new to working with SketchUp. I’m currently modeling furniture for scale models, and one of the most time-consuming parts of my workflow is laying out the components flat in 2D so I can export them to AutoCAD for cutting (usually on MDF sheets).

As you can see in the image, I manually rotate and arrange each piece on the red axis (XY plane), but this process takes a lot of time, especially with more complex furniture.

Is there any plugin or extension that could help me flatten the components automatically or at least speed up this step?

Thanks

hello
have a look at this open source extension OpenCutList sur L'Air du Bois

Paul suggested OpenCutList, and you could try Eneroth Laser Tools:

I use simple extension “drop vertices” to drop selected vertices of the 3d model to z=0, and then “selection toys” extension to remove faces.. then just tidy up the edges as needed and group. Mostly though I just draw a 2d simple outline using inference snapping from the 3d object above..

Yes, if parts of your furniture are component, OpenCuList allows you to generate a Parts List from which you can :
