Help cutting out curved form on curved form

Hi everyone!

I’m working on a project however I never had sketchup lessons or nothing so I«m having some trouble. I want to do a shiplap on a curved wall, however I have curved windows on that wall . I was able to cut out the form freehand on 2 windows but it’s not working now as I expected.

Here is the situation: I ton of lines because I am a noob.

Could someone help me do this?

Doing the subtract or how you call it doesn’t work, it says none of them are solids, and I already used that on the wall for the window.

Thanks a million!!!

PS. how do I upload a file?

Do you know what a solid group is in SketchUp?

if the file is small enough drop it into a response window here on the forum. Otherwise upload it to a file sharing service as suggested and post the link. Most likely you are going to want to make your shiplap wall a solid and subtract the windows but let’s see your file.

Sorry, kids got sick so wasn’t able to come on my computer a lot.

Using Fredo JPP extension

But you can do everything just using PushPull and Solid Tools (it involves a little more work).

Thank you sooo much!!! I can’t find the extension, is it the FredoTools? I can also not find it on their website Extensions | SketchUcation

Would you mind sending me this file so I can put it in my model? I am unfortunately not yet very good but will be investing in some sketchup courses when I’m able.

I used the file just to show a working method, but without saving it. File deleted.

Google search

Thank you, found it! Unfortunately won’t be able to use as I don’t have the money. But I really appreciate it! Do you have any other idea how I can do this shiplap wall for free?

You can draw the boards using the basic tools:

Thank you for your reply! I did that but I don’t know how to cut out the holes for the windows

Draw around the window opening with the pencil and arc tools till you have a face the shape of the window. Push pull it out and make it a solid group. Use the Trim tool to cut away the shiplap boards.

With native tools (SketchUp Make, Pro, Web, iPad)
PushPull and Intersect Faces

Good for you, you learned a new thing today!
Now you can start steaming the shiplap to get it bend.

One reason to use a vertical board and batten siding. But monks went around in horsehair shirts, too.

I am guilty of one exterior wall with an arch shape. It was covered with factory-bent corrugated steel sheets.
