Has anyone combined solar panel design and heat pump systems in SketchUp projects?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on a building energy efficiency workflow and wanted to ask if anyone has experience combining solar panel design with heat pump systems inside SketchUp (or using tools like Sefaira or other extensions).

I’ve done some projects using solar panels combined with copper pipes, but we hired an specialized company with more experience to do it, se we didn’t do the analysis that probably sefaira could do it, I’ve never used sefaira, and in my country I think it’s way easier to do the analysis cause we have the same days of sun almost every year and we don’t have seasons, just rainy season and windy season, windy season is warmer with a lot of sun, rainy season is sunny in the morning and rains in the afternoon, some times it rains for a couple days but surely the sun will appear at the third day, I don’t remember not seeing the sun for more than two days until I moved to Germany where they have months without sun.

Just remember that SketchUp 2026.2 added a new tool for illumination analysis, haven’t used yet but it looks promising and you don’t need to pay extra like with sefaira.

Thanks for the insight. Your climate definitely makes solar planning easier than places with long winters. The new SketchUp 2026.2 illumination analysis tool sounds interesting and could be a great alternative to Sefaira for basic solar studies.
