While we use the program with the students the download is very slow. If we would use contemporary 20 chrome book, at school with the program what is the graphic card who we need? Our Chrome book have intel graphics HD but i don’t know if the kind of card is enought for a good performance.
Are you using SketchUp for Schools?
Download is affected by your network and internet connection not your graphics card.

I don’t know how that translates to Chromebook, but looking at latest Chromebook specs I would get something in the Plus line but make sure it has a separate graphics card and as much RAM as you can afford.
I don’t know much about Chromebooks. What graphics choices do you have? I have understood that they all have integrated graphics. If your problem is network speed the hardware you use locally shouldn’t have much impact.
Thanks for the post @alessandroM. As I am a member of the SketchUp team, I am not allowed to offer a endorsement of a particular brand or model of hardware, but I can state some general advice.
If the initial download of the app is slow, I would suggest checking the network you are using first. It may be a simple issue of 20 Chromebooks all downloading files at the same time. If that is the issue, changing Chromebook models won’t do much to help with the issue.
If the issue persists when only one user is attempting to access SketchUp for Schools, that may be a hardware issue. If you can post some info about the model of Chromebook you are using, that might provide some insight for us to help you figure out what to do.
@CaseyG Chrome or Edge ask if we want to install SketchUp for Web. This indicates that the browser(s) believes it is a Progressive Web App.
Is this true and would it be beneficial for a school to install the SketchUp for Web app on their Chromebooks ?
Hmm, that is a great question. I’ll see if I can track down an answer one way or another. I am less familiar with Chromebooks than I would like as I do most of my work on a Mac laptop or Windows Desktop, so it may take me a while to get everything figured out.
Just want to verify, we are talking about SketchUp’s web app, right?
Edit: I took the liberty of moving the topic to the correct section and fixed a typo in the title of the thread. That should help us to keep track of it.
Correct.
Although I have not yet bought a Chromebook nor played with one. Whenever I dabble with the web app on PC, it asks to install SketchUp for Web.
I did not do this as I don’t know whether the revisions will be “live” or even if SU4web is designed to run this way.
