I tried manually editing the markdown link, instead.
Manually editing seems to work.
Ie, I changed the link from:

to:

… But this doesn’t seem to have the other user’s member id within it.
ADD: … so I manually added '&u=sketch3d_de" to the end of the copied link URL.
It now reads:
