Hi all, 3 month user. Upgraded to 2026 Sketchup. New geometry shows as edges only and without faces. It’s tagged as as “Untagged” in the Entity info. It is a group, but have also tried it as a component. Any ideas as to what’s going on? Been using 2025 without any issues.
I suspect the problem may be with edges and faces that have the “Project Private” tag applied to them. This tag is set to non-visible in several of your scenes, which makes those faces and edges disappear even though their groups are selectable.
It’s still acting the same way. I did have a bug splat come up though. I’m thinking the new companies template for 2026 has issues or I need to reinstall Sketchup to hopefully solve some glitch.
Did you send in the Bug Splat report with something to identify that it came from you?
I would suggest that you do a repair of the SketchUp installation. Right click on the downloaded installer, choose Run as administrator from the Context menu, and when presented with the options, choose Repair.
I did put my email address in the box and sent it off.
I’ve tried to find the repair app, but I’m not finding it. When I right click on the program it just opens up the welcome screen. I have been using Cabinet Vision for 15 years and was ok using it, but this company wants to use Sketchup and Cabinet Sense. Right now I’m freaking lost and severely frustrated. Someone at the company will have to figure this out. I don’t have enough computer savvy to figure this out.
I have been selecting and the eye is on, but the geometry is not visible until I click on the group, then it’s visible. But then I switch tabs and the geometry is not visible anymore. Been trying to assign the untagged or public option without any real success.
I think the program has a big glitch going on. I get a bugsplash randomly. That or the new template they gave me to use is screwed up somehow.
Is that in your Downloads folder? If so, that’s the right place. Right click on it, choose Run as administrator and then Repair.
No. It doesn’t take you to the Registry. If you don’t know what you are doing in the Registry you should stay out of it but repairing the installation as I describe won’t take you to the Registry.
