In this class, the first method for tapering a leg doesn’t work for me and I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. When i select my profile to extrude along a path, it says ‘this does not appear to be a valid path’. version 26.1.257. video of the error message attached, but my error may be earlier. thanks.
wow. great catch! my cabinet makers mark was cutting the edge into two pieces.. thank you
Just curious. Why do you use a cabinet makers mark in SketchUp?
I show adding what I call a ‘cabinet maker’s mark’ temporarily to help users get used to the process of flipping component copies. That’s what the OP is referring to in their post. This is useful in cases where there are no features that readily identify the orientation of the components. I also show removing the “mark” before doing anything else to modify the component, though.
On something like table legs they look like this.
I don’t use cabinet maker marks but I will (for certain clients) color the reference faces of my timber frames… helps with orientation as well as practical for the shop.
