How many projects has Aaron done? Projects built, not only “on paper”

I never kept track… but somewhere in the hundreds of buildings.

So you are an architect? I did not know

Oh no! Not an architect. I spent the first 20 or so years of my life working in residential building design. Things like creating load paths, sizing structural members and framing structures. Only later in life have I seen the light and graced the world with my presentation and training abilities.

Are home and building design permits not required in the US? Otherwise: don’t you have to be an architect to design them?

Architects are involved at one point or another. Very infrequently do architect drawings contain everything that is needed to build the structure. Building designers, engineers, framers all get involved before the final building goes up!

I concur, most of what I do is interpret the drawings, do basic engineering, check codes make layouts and lists which are used to create the structure. Very few designs come with a set of working drawings and even then they are generic, not much use to create a bill of materials.

So you started work when you were only 5 years old? Slave labour I call that.

Modeled this a couple years ago. Took a while to figure out how to do it.

Hey, and may I say that you are the best Sketchup instructor on YT!

Yes… you may
