Aaron is sharing some of his experience and framing some walls, live in SketchUp! No extensions, here, just lots of components and a bunch of know-how. Join if you have ever wondered how framing in SketchUp can work!
Oh no! Not an architect. I spent the first 20 or so years of my life working in residential building design. Things like creating load paths, sizing structural members and framing structures. Only later in life have I seen the light and graced the world with my presentation and training abilities.
Architects are involved at one point or another. Very infrequently do architect drawings contain everything that is needed to build the structure. Building designers, engineers, framers all get involved before the final building goes up!
I concur, most of what I do is interpret the drawings, do basic engineering, check codes make layouts and lists which are used to create the structure. Very few designs come with a set of working drawings and even then they are generic, not much use to create a bill of materials.
Hi Aaron - I’m soory, I will only be around for maybe 5-10 minutes from the start tonight - I am going to a party! Hope you all have a great stream and I look forward to watching the ‘re-run’ tomorrow!!
