As an example, I modeled a simple building 12’ x 16’ x 8’ high. (I do have the units set as feet). I open the obj file into ModelConvertorX that processes the texture and converts the model to gLtf. I can tell the model is oversized because the imported model is obviously huge. I also tested ModelConvertorX by imported some older obj files that was exported from Sketchup 2017 with a 3rd party obj exporter. They were correctly imported to ModelConvertorX.
Are there any options for export scaling that I have missed? I’m new using Sketchup Pro, all the settings appear to be identical to SU2017.
To me it sounds like the receiving application interpreted your units as meters.
Did you notice that SketchUp can export to glTF natively so you could perhaps skip the convertor entirely? When exporting check that the export units match the ones that your receiving application expects.
No, it is a problem with Sketchup2024’s onboard obj exporter. I bought an addon obj exporter extention and installed it into SU2024 and it exported the obj at the correct dimensions. I notice that my addon exporter has an option for output scaling. It is set as “1”. I have found no option for scaling in SU2024.
I am going to give the glTF export a try. That would save my a lot time.
