Entity Info upgrade - Simplified Area, Length and Quantity reporting

Hello. I would like to ask that there be an enhancement to the Entity Info panel that can report on simple info about things we have selected.

  • Combined Area of selected faces
  • Combined Length of selected edges
  • Number of Selected Edges, Faces, Objects
  • Etc.

The current display “17 Entities” is helpful for some things (ie, ensuring you dont have tiny stray edges in your selection), but not helpful for design.
We have to select individual edges or faces in some situations - and there can be very many of these (like hundreds)!

The typical workflow is to use the Selection Toys extension and then (for example) we can select the items, Right-Click, choose Select Only > Faces, and then Entity Info will report the combined area.

No need for an extension there, right click / selection and there you can unselect lines or faces, groups…

edit : but I agree, when selecting 17 entities, it would be useful if the entity info panel could display more. maybe in the expanded space at the bottom, so as not to overcrowd the main one.

there, it could read 15 lines - total length / 1 face - surface / 1 group
that would make the double click better than it is : you would get surface AND perimeter.
