I imported a customized window component from an earlier model into my current model, pasting it into a group. Now I see it came with its own layer: “Windows”. I’d like to keep my list of layers to a minimum. I’ve tried re-parenting and exploding, but still this new layer remains. How can I make these components only part of the group and eliminate the “Window” layer from the list?

Did you try deleting the layer? Select it in the Layers window and click the - in the circle at the top of the window.
hello, simply delete the layer from layers list pressing the minus button… If any element remains in the layer you want to delete, it will ask you if you want to move the content to the current layer
