Hi, does anyone know if there is a extension or some command that would give me the elevation height (z value) of on object in space. In autocad there is a command called ID which tells me the x,y,z coordintae of a point i pick in space. What I’m looking for is to pick the surfaces of my steel beams in space and to quickly make sure they are placed at the correct height.

I think the Query tool in the Utility Tools extension does this, although I haven’t tried it myself.

I use it all the time so have hotkeyed it to the " ? " key…
seems appropriate 
PS… I think TIG has a plugin to stamp Z heights on your model also
