Edge visability on extruded cylinders

Sometimes when I extrude a circle into a cylinder the vertexs become visible edges. I can of course

turn off edge visibility but then I lose edge visibility for the rest of the model.

It sounds like what you are seeing is related to the edge of the circle being exploded into it’s individual segments. You can either check that before hand (click on the edge and see what is selected) and if needed weld the edges or you can select the geometry of the cylinder afterward, right click on it, and choose Soften/Smooth. No need to turn off Edges in the style at all.

Yah I tried soften smooth from the right click menu and that did not work. Maybe it is because I copied the circle from existing geometry. Perhaps I did explode to get access outside of group. I just deleted it and redrew the circle from scratch. That seemed to do the trick.

Perhaps the angle between normals wasn’t set high enough.

Depending on what you copied it from it could be that the circle was already exploded.

There should be no reason to explode a group to access the geometry inside it. You can just open it for editing.
