Maybe something like http://www.evernote.com/ would work for collecting and organizing them?

True. But while we are on the subject. I too have a problem with orientation on my models because of this good point you make.
Since I’m trying to centrifugal cast my models once they are printed in wax… (I have yet to get to the casting part on my first model)… my models are slanted when I’m nearly done with them. So if realize I need to make a change on anything on the “casting tree”… I no longer have the luxury of having my model oriented straight on the global axis. DaveR has tried to help me understand how you can change the axis of the components, but I’m still having trouble understanding that. But anyways… I really have to spend extra time making sure my models are correct before I radial array them in these awkward angles.
The other night, I found a slow way to work with slanted models… I literally had to turn on hidden geometry, then draw from the center point of a segment, and then draw perpendicular from another center point.
I guess I need to learn to be quicker at workflow and I could always go back and change one of the components and then make my new slanted copies. That’s probably faster for now.
