do you need to be online while you’re using the web version or can I use the desktop version for free?

You only need to be online to get it open and for some functions like saving to the Trimble Connect account or accessing the 3D Warehouse.

You can use SketchUp 2017 Make at no charge for non-commercial use.

Thanks - I’ve already got 2017 installed so I’ll carry on using that.
