Do I need to unlock all groups before exporting as collada or fbx?

Hello

I moved my axis back to where is was when I started it all.

I finally after weeks of work found out all stray geometry and locked all groups
as I went along.

Do I need to unlock all the main groups first or even all groups?
Now I wonder, can a model with all groups locked be exported as a Collada or Fbx format?
AND
Also the length of my groups names, because so many, are rather detailed
will this affect other render software?
UE has told me a few times “names can not be recognized” in other trials

This is why I am considering cutting short the hierarchy with names
and unlock the bigger groups.

I couldn’t find a video that addresses the group or ungroup before exporting issue.

Thanks to the Forum members for putting me on the right path.
Very grateful, I know I was stubborn but part is the ADHD doing, short patience etc.
and artsy crafty way of design progress.

Should have started doing this years ago.
So much time wasted in correcting accidental deletion, but finally learned my lesson.
Thank you

You likely could have made a new file with 2 groups, locked one of them and did a test export faster than it took you to type out that question…

Hello

I have resolved the whole issue and found out all lost pixels all over.
Thank you for your concern.
