DC info on SketchUp for Web

Hey there! I am aware that the Dynamic components cannot be used on Sketchup for web, but i would need a way to only view the model / components and the attributes.

to be more specific, i work with tubes, and my collegues(who don know and doesnt need to know how to use sketchup) must be able to see the lenght of these tubes, as one of the attributes is the lenght, LenX, and of course they cannot see that on sketchup web (i know i can measure it, but its not the idea)

There is maybe a tool inside skp web to do this? or maybe another tool for visualization?
Besides Sketchup pro haha of course.

I’m afraid it’s not possible to extract attributes of Dynamic Component in the web version.
There is NO workaround.
Your colleagues need to measure it manually or use the desktop version (pro only feature).

The component can also be created by placing a dimension, which you associate with a separate tag, which you hide, and then your colleague can turn on its visibility.

Save your model in Trimble Connect and share the link. Dynamic attributes can be read in the viewer.

This is a small test I did

Unfortunately, this might work in imperial system, but for metric, it needs to be converted to a string (which we than cannot use to calculate in the datatable…)

Basically, adding dynamic properties to snaps ought to be enabled, at least for the position and rotation parameters.

I hadn’t checked it. :disappointed:

That leads us to export our file to IFC to have more data (see Oriented Bounding Box…)

But do not worry! it reads the attribute i put on each component that is its lenght, which i use also for the report, so at least for me works wonderfully! but can this be opened by someone without a license? because i have but not the people im sending it to

Yes, I opened the file I sent in a private web session and it’s not necessary to login…
