Dashed line overrides solid line in hybrid mode - Layout 2026

Hi All,

Has anyone else experienced this… and how to fix it please..

The dashed line is a tag - set as ‘dashed’ in Layout…

Thanks

Share your LO file so we can see what you have setup.

I can tell from the animation that you have changed something in the viewport - what happens if you press ‘Reset All’?

If those are ‘back edges’ - they only work in Raster. If you are playing with dashed lines per tag - that would need a closer look.

You aren’t running 2019 anymore are you? Fix your profile with up to date information - it helps us help you.

SU and LO files attached. Those arent back edges.

Not really sure what you are going for:

SKP model:

You can see it in the LO file:

You have treads that are solid line over the dashed line. These are hiding the dashes (for the most part) - but when you change rendering style you are probably seeing a glitch between the thicker raster edges somehow bleeding through. Sadly it also exports with confusion about which line should be on top.

Maybe one of the SKP team members could look at the file. I played around with the edge thickness and render quality - but with no luck.

Thanks @bmike .

That is exactly what I’m going for. In architectural plans - it is a normal practice to show the solid stair where as its starts (climbs), and show the remaining of the stair (which gets cut by the section) as dotted lines.

I have always kept the dotted symbol underneath as my standard workflow so that the 3d model remains on top of the 2d symbol.

This ‘override behavior’ occurs when simply changing the color of the tag as well.

I guess it is a software issue then..

Maybe @Colin can reach out to one of the LO dev team members and can look at your file.

Or just editing the group of the dashes so they start at the 5th tread…

Thank you @DaveR , @bmike ,

This is part of a large project and I already have stacked viewports for other graphic purposes. One more only for this dashes is unnecessary trouble.

However, to get around this weird issue; I have made the symbol just 1mm smaller (like offset-inside) on each side which has resolved the trouble for now.
