Creating a curve railing

Hi, I have designed a style of railing but struggling to get it to bend around my mezzanine and curve stairs with out making any gaps. I need to 3d print this so the no gaps is the main issue, Thankyou

You can use Flowify extension.

I have tried and wouldn’t work as it needs to sit above the concrete railing

Did you set it correctly to stay there, as it should normally come out properly?

it’s supposed to work (I’ve rarely used flowify yet I know it’s a standard case)

could you share your file so (better) users (than me) can check what’s not working ?

Bgarden mezzanine.skp (1.7 MB)

You should improve the model as a whole, but you can use Flowify to create the railing (and it will stay there where you put it). I used a simpler pattern to be calculated faster.

thankyou I appreciate the help! when I get to this part, when following the YouTube tutorial, they flowify and impose grid, that doesn’t seem to work, when i googled the problem it says its to do with scale, did you face this problem too when using my mezzanine? Thankyou

It’s probably necessary, considering how the geometry you created looks. Search in forum for ‘tiny edges’ to understand why errors occur when you have very small edges.

I recreated the model to have a clean geometry and used a simple railing as an example, so there were no problems with Flowify. However, the railing you intend to create already has a lot of small edges, so besides there being a lot of them and it taking a long time to calculate them, once bent they will generate even smaller ones, hence the error.
