Copy Paste

Unfortunately I can’t use ctrl-c and ctrl-v in sketchup. Are there more people who experience the same problem? If so, can someone tell me how I can solve this please? I have had this problem for a week. I have tried all possible solutions I could find on the internet, but unfortunately.

Has a shortcut accidentally been set against thhse in the preferences?

Do you have any 3d mice or softwares that allow for mouse shortcuts or keyboard shortcuts running/installed?

Check on the preferences if you have assigned those shortcuts to other actions.

I wonder if the shortcut has been given in the preferences.

(echo, echo, echo…)

Instead of control c and Control v, you can use the right click and select copy or paste or paste in place, too.

Not with the Desktop version, though.

@FurkanG I would be inclined to look at your computer’s settings. Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V are operating system shortcuts. They are not assigned by SketchUp. They are also not assignable to other functions in SketchUp 2025.

What language do you have established on your computer?

Does that include a cold reboot of your computer?

Presumably you are using Windows. Which version of Windows are you using? Please put that in your forum profile.

Thanks for all your responses.

Outside of SketchUp, the shortcut Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V work just fine on my PC.

The language of my computer is Dutch and I use Windows 10 Home version. I have updated this in my profile. Thanks for the tip!

What shortcut is shown in SketchUp’s Preferences?

exactly the same as what you have!

I think I solved it. Next to my SketchUp model I had an external citrix workspace open. Now that I closed it, it works fine again. So it is good to know that this could be a possible cause. Thanks for all the help anyway!

Interesting. Certainly not something we’d ever have guessed. I suppose the Citrix workspace was commandeering the shortcuts.

I think so too.
