all they have to do is open the dwg, and use the tools autocad provides to measure stuff. it’s all in their hands.

ok so here is the exported DWG file i sent to my friend. Can you open it in AUTOCAD and get dimensions or measuremnets from it ?
850BD1.dwg (211.1 KB)
Well I don’t have autocad, just Qcad, so I’m 2d only.
I just used the tape measurer in Qcad, and found the same length as in your sketchup file.
Someone with a proper autocad can confirm that they can also measure stuff, but in 3d (normally)
I appreciate the help. I can also open the file in draftsight in 2D. I can get dimensions from that but its only 2D.
Is there anyway someone can open the DWG file in AUTOCAD and see if the measurements can be taken from it ?
Your file imports correctly into SU, so it will open in AC as well. And since there is some geometry, there is no way that it cannot be measured. AC, like any other program, creates dimensions. between vertices or points in the case of 2D. There is geometry - there are vertices - you can create dimensions.
I opened on autocad 3D and the dimensions were the same, you were lucky, a friend of mine gave me his laptop to update his drivers, he knows nothing about PCs, he has autocad in his laptop I checked your file there, I use only QCad pro.
