Component Help?

I am using Make2017. I have made hundreds of components in the past.
I am working on a model and suddenly I am unable to make components.
I select the object and turn it in to a component, but everything in the object is still disconnected.

Check to see that Replace Selection with component is checked on in the Create Component window.

See if you have accidentally unchecked the box ‘Replace selection with component’ in the component creation dialogue.
