Hi
I want to use Color by tag and show different material by using the tags. I got a file from somewhere for a practise.
The attached file is here and it was saved in Sketchup 2024 >> color by tag.skp (269.3 KB)
I want to assign a material in the “Color-Purple” tag similar to “Color-White” tag. so instead of searching through the texture image how can it be done??
If you want to make the purple color match the color of the other tag, first click on the color for the other tag and change the Picker to show the RGB values instead of the color wheel. Note the RGB values. Then edit the purple tag color and set the same values.
I don’t understand what you are trying to accomplish. Tags are given to objects (groups and components) in the model primarily for visibility control. A group or component can be given only one tag at a time. The Color by Tag feature helps to show which tags have been assigned to the various groups and components in the model. They are not intended to show different materials.
Yes. You can. Look at the bottom section of the Edit Material panel. Click on the folder icon and import an image to use as a texture. If you are trying to use a texture you already have in SketchUp, first select that texture in the Materials panel and export the texture so you can use it.
Got it thanks
In the tutorial link above, it says “Drag the texture from the Materials panel to the Layer color swatch”
I don’t see importing/exporting texture in the tutorial like you said. I am assuming Sketchup Mac is different to Sketchup Windows??
