Changing object's layer within different components or selecting multi objects inside different components at once

hi. i got some solid groups nested inside different components.i need to select them at once to change their layer. just like a deep select that ignores componets.

And did you search the Extensions Warehouse for ā€œdeep selectā€?

Yea .right now Iā€™m using curic to level plugin to select a nested object inside component 1 for example but it doesnā€™t let me to select secondth object nested in component 2 at once and the first object goes deselected.

Did you watch either of the two videos I posted? I used the terms ā€˜deep selectā€™ for the search and used the extension that appeared - Curic Deep Select, not ā€˜Curic to Levelā€™. And itā€™s working for more components at once, with nested groups/components.

Thatā€™s right. There is 3 groups in each component. When you deep select them based on selecting groups,it selects all groups inside those 2 components. (6 groups) but i need to select group 1 in comp1 and group 1 in comp2 ā€¦ In a row

You can use Selection Toys and select all instances of a group or component, all instances on the same layer, all active, etc.

I think you can do it from the outliner as well, so you donā€™t need to edit into a nested group.

Agreed. In this situation, Curic Deep Select does the job.

For the requirement in the original post, Curic Deep Select was fine, but for the new requirement, bmikeā€™s method is ok.
