I’m not sure if this is the correct form/location to ask a question but here goes.
Does anyone know if it is possible to reverse the look around mouse control to make it resemble Apple’s UX. For example, in Sketchup’s look around feature, if I want to look right I have to swipe to the right. Whereas, Apple allows you to swipe to the left in order to look right. This feels much more natural. Is it possible to change these settings?
The camera rotates in the direction the cursor is moved. If you want to look toward the right you move the cursor to the right. Kind of the same as actually looking around IRL. If you want to look toward your right you swivel your head to the right.
You can invert the scroll wheel zoom action if you want, though.
If you click the magnifier to search, and type Settings, you can then go into Navigation and invert the controls you want to invert. Or change whether you are using a trackpad, or what action happens when you use the mouse or trackpad.
Hi Colin, thanks for your help. I just tried to do that but it doesn’t let me, presumably because I’m using the free version. But I’m sure that is the answer I was looking for. Cheers!
on a mouse, orbit and pan are locked. if you move your mouse to the right, then it’ll orbit or pan to the right.
only the zoom (scroll wheel) can be switched.
on a trackpad, everything can be switched because many people are used to inverted manipulation using a touch screen.
so if you want to have the orbit work like the default mac os UX, then you have to select trackpad first, and use the trackpad to navigate
