Change names of colours and textures in model

Hi.

Is it possible to change the names of colours and textures within a model?
EG, I have a sketchup model that I’ve downloaded from 3d Warehouse that I want to use in a design on another CAD program. However, I need to identify which colour is which by giving them a unique name in the sketchup model, as the model is currently using random names like ‘Material1’, ‘material2’ etc, where I would rather they were named as per what they are, example ‘Leaves’, ‘Soil’ etc.

Yes. You should be able to rename the materials. Which version of SketchUp are you using? Please complete your profile.

You should be able to simply change the names in the Materials panel.

FWIW, since you are using SketchUp for your business, you need to be using SketchUp Pro or SketchUp Shop. SketchUp Make doesn’t provide you with a license to use it commercially.

I get that, but I’m not using it for business, I just don’t have a personal email address to sign up with.
