Change material colour

Hi, apologies in advance, last time I was on here people were telling me I should know “basic” things and this question is basic, but ive been trying for hours and no luck, so reluctantly back on here.

all I want to do is change the colour of the decking/wood in my drawing, ive tried everything on google/chat gbt and non of them seem to work, not sure what im doing wrong. any help appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the advice, I followed Mihai’s video and it worked straight away, chat gbt was so complicated and different and didn’t work. ill use these links in the future.
