Can't select hidden geometry

Hi,

I’m brand new to SketchUp and slowly getting the hang of it. I have a bunch of groups and components in the outliner. I think I have them all selected as viewable, but some are still showing up as white grid lines so I can’t select them to delete or modify. They are also interacting with new geometry I am trying to put in.

Here is the model:

Any help appreciated and thanks!

Hiding things is not going to prevent other geometry to interact with it.
Only making components and groups is doing that!
Go to learn.sketchup.com to learn the basics, this will save you time and frustration!
Also try the SketchUp YouTube channel, the Square One series is for beginners.

Thank you both!!
I have been watching videos, there is a lot to learn
Best, e
