Can't seem to open saved styles

I have a whole load of Sketchup styles I use for my workflow. I’ve recently had to wipe my whole laptop and re-install everything. However, I can’t seem to use any of my styles. I can open skp files and the styles I used are still working for those files, but I can’t seem to recreate my collection from the saved style files. These are critical to my workflow and I invested a lot of time in them.

I found an earlier post about repairing SKU, but I don’t seem to have that option on the .dmg file which I downloaded. Any ideas please?

How are you trying to open these style files? The only application that will open .style files is Style Builder. You shouldn’t need to open them unless yuo want to edit them in Style Builder. In SketchUp you would just apply them in your model. You can access the folder from the Styles panel.

in the Style panel, click on the weird blue-black button

there, pick the first choice, “open a collection”.

and select the folder that contains your styles. not the styles themselves, but the whole folder.

Then, the styles will appear in your Style panel along the other style collections

In the PC version, you can drag-drop them directly into the style panel, not in the mac version.

if you simply double click on a style, it should open style builder.
