These are simple deck plans for a client. They look correct in Layout, but when I export to pdf to send them the PDF is incorrect, and the only thing that is shown is the text and some random lines. I need help figuring this out, I’m a builder and this stuff is like greek to me.
Here’s the file

It’s due to incorrect workflow in SketchUp and in LayOut. You haven’t created any scenes and instead are using Last saved SketchUp view. The last saved SketchUp view in your model looks like this.
In Document Setup>Rendering you have the Output Override enabled which makes LayOut re-render the viewports during export.
Your model is also not built correctly. You haven’t used groups or component and instead have just loose geometry most of which you’ve hidden.
You should be using groups and components for discrete parts of the model. Most likely every “board” should be a component. Like objects such as the joists, stair treads, stringers, etc. should be copies of a single component. You should then be using tags to control visibility of those groups and components. Then, before you are ready for LayOut you need to create scenes in the SketchUp model for the various views you want in LayOut.
Side note: You should also make sure you are keeping face orientation correct. There should be no exposed blue back faces in your model.
Really you should spend some time learning to use SketchUp and then LayOut. Start with the free tutorials at learn.sketchup.com
FWIW, Here I’ve rebuilt your stairs using components. There’s a stringer component and a riser component each has been copied the required number of times to make the framing of the stairs.
In the background I’ve rebuilt some of the deck framing so you can see the structure with components.
I left the rest for you.
