Can't download component to file

In the past few weeks, I’ve noticed that when I try to download something from the 3D Warehouse, and choose “no” when asked if I’ve like to download it into my model (see attached), SketchUp now behaves incorrectly. After choosing “no”, it should then lead to my file navigation system, and let me save the file there, but instead, the component just pops into my model.

I teach SketchUp and this is happening with all my students who are using a PC (as I am) but not to students on a Mac.

We have this as a bug report. I’m not sure when it will be fixed. A work around for now is to download the model in a web browser. Or, if it is already in your scene you can right-click and Save As the new component as a separate SKP file.
