Hello there folks - i have tried everything that i have found by searching with google for a solution and now I am here, and hopeful - though i wonder if this big sea ( this forum) is going to hear this or perhaps its merely… like a drop in the ocean ( pun intended) : )
“Is there anybody out there”
I can see that the extension manager receives the extension after requesting it through the extension warehouse - then after ticking it off and clicking install from within the manager it opens the Windows file manager whichs prompts for the .rbz file. I have therefore tried downloading the file through my browser and “manually” satisfied the file explorer prompt. That is where it ends unfortunately.
I have re installed sketchup FYI which i thought was the last resort… I had noticed this awhile ago but i really need to develop my construction documents so need to utilize some plugins ; the back story. Any tid bit more will not be under appreciated!
How about trying it the way it is designed to work and see what happens? Instead of opening Extension Manager, open the Extension Warehouse panel. Find the extension you want to install and click the Install button.
Using the Install Extension button at the bottom of the Extension MANAGER is for installing extensions you’ve downloaded from outside sources. Installing them from the Extension Warehouse doesn’t require that.
After you have installed the extension you should be able to find where the extension’s page shows it will be found. In some cases you may need to restart SketchUp to get the extension to load completely.
Reinstalling SketchUp won’t change the way extensions are to be installed.
…You are the guru - it did actually load ! but as you indicate in the instructions, i needed to look in the right place. I have tested with other extensions and I think Im good .Grateful for your help , many thanks
