Hi new to this both the forum and SketchUp and I am wondering if I can use it to mark up Cad files from auto cad
I am only a trial user at this stage
Not really but there are free DWG editors out there. Do a web search on DraftSight
You can import edit and export dxf and dwg with SketchUp Pro, but you’ll lose things in the process
When importing CAD files, SketchUp ignores dimensions, texts and proprietary AutoCAD entities.
Try this tool from Autodesk® … Design Review | DWF Viewer | Autodesk
Design Review CAD viewer software lets you view, mark up, print, and track changes to 2D and 3D files for free—without the original design software.
Work with a variety of file formats, including: DWF, DWFx, DWG, and DXF (requires installation of free DWG TrueView software); Adobe PDF; as well as image file types such as.bmp, .jpg, .gif, .pcx, .pct, .png, .rlc, .tga, .tif, .mil, .cal, and more.
