Can I import a PNG with transparency and have sketchup trace the edges?

I have a PNG that is an image of a coin with an irregular edge. The areas outside of the edge are transparent.

I want to convert this into a 3D object. I can import the PNG, but I can’t figure out how to get Sketchup to trace the irregular edge of the coin.

I’m using Sketchup Make 2017, but I can use the free web version as well.

TIG’s Image Trimmer can trace around an image such as yours. It’s part of his SKM tools and is available from Sketchucation.

But in reality the two point arc tool will give you a better result with that shape. Tig’s image trimmer will pick up all the pixels whereas the arc tool will trim them off nicely.

How do I use the 2-point arc tool to trace the image?

Import the image, explode it then draw the arcs as needed and remove the excess.
Here is a very quick version, you can be as accurate or as rough as you need.
