I am using sketchup in india and tried every type of card to buy sketchup pro 2024 but card is declining due recurring payment issue. My friend lives in US so can i use his credit/ debit card to make the purchase ? Or there is problem in it ?
yep.
some softwares (like archicad) have a different price in different countries. I suspect they enforce this by allowing use only in the country you’ve paid in.
Sketchup has the same price everywhere. meaning that no matter who pays your account, in what country, all it checks is if your account has a subscription.
so your friend can purchase your subscription, in your account, then you can log in wherever you want, it’ll work.
(similarly, some Basecamp attendees were not from the US, yet our subscriptions worked in Vegas during the week.)

But know that sketchup studio, although advertised as windows only is not windows only.
Sketchup studio comes with
- sketchup pro
- Vray for PC and Mac
- scan essential for PC
- revit importer for PC
buying sketchup pro + vray comes for about the same price as sketchup studio. so even for a mac user it’s worth it.
(you’ll have to log in on vray’s website with your sketchup account to grab the installer though)
