Hello,
I have a question, maybe a little bit of a problem.
I did a building in sketchup and after rendering, one side of the building is really brightned so much that you cannot see wall line edges.
After I move the shadows to the other side, then I have the same problem (can not see the edges around the balcony, walls, fence, canopy).
Please see examples so you can easily figourad out what I mean.
The main problem is that after rendering the model looks flat in some areas because there is too much brightness.
Probably there are settings in the Vray options panel. But I’m not that familiar with it.
Also, when I apply translucent sky glass to my windows, I have problems after rendering (see example).
You can adjust the strength of the sunlight, and I would also suggest experimenting with the Light Gen function.
For the glass make sure no materials are applied to the group or component and use glass materials from VRay. You can access these in the ChaosCosmos under the VRay plugin menu. Only apply the glass materials to surfaces. And be sure that your surface are oriented properly - you should see no back faces in your model.
Yes, the strength of the sunlight and shadow sliders did the trick regarding brightness.
I have an older version of Vray. So I don’t have the Light Gen feature.
Also, I applied glass to my windows using the vray material editor, and it’s fine. But when I want to apply translucent sky glass to my windows, I still have the same problem, no transparency.
