Boat hull design in SketchUp

Hello,

All new to SketchUp, just testing out if it will be possible (for me) to design a boat hull using SketchUp.

Watching YouTube videos about the subject, the “sandbox” feature keeps popping up, but my result is not really good, to say the least. Any ideas on how to design an accurate V-hull boat in SU, will be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

Yes, for the compound curves of boat hulls, curviloft is the way to go. Due to symmetry, you can usually model just half the hull and flip a copy to complete it.

Thanks a lot for the help! Now it actually starts to look like a boat.
