Hi there! Anyone knows what causes mirror and glass to come out with blurry reflection for denoise layer? I had tried changing denoise to be mild, or even custom and nothing helps. Sometimes it comes out perfect but it is my second model that is like that for unknown reason even though i always use same materials for mirror or glass.
What App are you using for rendering?
Because the face of the mirror is being denoised instead of the things you see in the reflection.
I’m amazed that sometimes it does work like you want it to.
What do the glass and mirror material properties look like? Is it just a single face or does it have thickness?
Anything special about the model? Dumb question: Is it very far from the model origin, or are the extents very large?
Hi. i’m having the same problem. did you find any solutions? I’ve tried every possible solutions and also watched youtube videos to fix this but i cannot find any.
Are you rendering with CPU or GPU? Do you have Denoiser enabled?
Of the (all) methods you have tried, have you tested this one as well?
What version of V-Ray are you using?
The issue has been resolved in V-Ray 6. It was relevant to all V-Ray integrations.
i am current using V-Ray 6.00.00 for SketchUp 2019-2022 (x64).
i am rendering with CUDA and denoiser is always enabled because i have more clear result when its enabled.
What version of SketchUp? Your profile makes no sense. There is no Free Plan for SketchUp Pro and 2021 does not identify the operating system.

sorry by mistake.
SketchUp.Pro.2021.21.0.339

Did you follow up on the link that mihai.s supplied?
Hi, I realized that if there is not enough lighting then the mirror and glass reflections will be blurry. I usually put a rectangular light outside so I get “natural” light through the window, but if window is small then there will be not enough lighting hence, blurry reflection. It is annoying but I haven’t found any other solution other than putting IES lights where light fittings are.
If rendering with denoiser OFF then there will be a lot of noise in the final render and it will not look good at all. This does not work for me personally.
yes, that’s why denoiser is very important.
thank you so much for the info and to your response. i appreciate it. have a nice day.
