Hi Ccaponigro,
Are you saying that there is a work-around using excel that will allow me to create a Total Pages field in a layout set?
Adam
@adameee Thatās kind of what Iām saying. There is no way excel is going to keep track of how many pages you have however if you have a piece of text in your layout file that is linked to a field in an excel file you only have to update that field in the excel file and when you open the layout field you will be notified that the reference is out of date. Then you simply updated it and it will reflect the number in the excel file. This object can be copied and pasted from one layout file to another as well. Also it goes without saying if the text reside on a shared layer like āOn Every Pageā it will show up on every page in the layout file provided that layer is visible. If you right click on the reference you can limit the cells that are displayed even down to a single cell.
I currently have my Owner, Builder, and Revisions all being feed to the title block by a spreadsheet.
I like the idea of putting all the text block items in a spreadsheet linked to the file.
Thanks!
Sometimes itās the little things that help a lot. I am ready to say I am now loving LO. A simple thing like being able to have different shapes around attributes displayed by the leader tool would be a big time saver and is a pretty basic drafting fundamental.
A simple āfind and Replaceā text tool would be very productiveā¦ pretty basic requirement really ā¦
We have had that feature request before and I agree that it would be nice to have. That work must be prioritized along with many other feature requests and bug fixes.
Thanks,
Adam
@adam while we are at it it would be huge to be able to mirror text and have it change position but not be backwards. Autocad has a mirrtext option set to 1 or 0 to control that behavior. Flipping models is something we do a lot of.
