Hi, I am currently using SketchUp as a service to create accurate 3D layouts from 2D floor plans provided to us. I was hoping that there might be a way to automate the 3D floor plan creation with the help of either an extension or through other means. If there is a way to just automatically trace/detect and pull up the walls from the 2D floor plan would be great as well. Thanks!
If you mean just create walls from their outline then all you have to do is extrude a surface bounded by wall edges. All you need to know is the ceiling height.
If you have openings it becomes much harder to automate because the system won’t know at what height the opening starts and finishes. And with things like staircases, it becomes more complex still.
