Hello, I’m on Sketchup Shop, and I would like to know if there is any way of turning off the option that automatically creates surfaces?

To my knowledge, this isn’t possible. Automatic face creation is what makes SketchUp such a great modeling tool 
You would have to click on the resulting face and delete it to get the desired result. I can think of a couple of reasons you may want this. May I ask why?
I’m wanting to make an Eiffel tower (very very very simple), just with “sticks” though; so I don’t want any faces.
The problem is that it will be BIG, and I don’t really feel like spending hours selecting and deleting faces…
You could always use wireframe mode if all you want are the edges.
