Auto-Text tag units of measurement

How do I change the Auto-Text tag units of measurement in a label text box? (e.g. from ft2 to m2)

I assume you are referring to the area of a face in the SketchUp viewport. The units for that come from the units selected in the SketchUp model so change the units in the model, save, and update the reference in LayOut.

I was referring to the auto-text in labels within Layout.

What is it you’re dimensioning? Is that from SketchUp? Auto text for area in labels comes from the area reported by SketchUp. The units also come from SketchUp.

If that doesn’t answer it for you, upload the LO file so I can see exactly what you’ve got?

I understand now. I changed the units in the SketchUp file and I see that the units in Layout changed in a corresponding way. (I thought I could change the units within Layout for auto text within labels in a way that is similar to how dimension units can be changed within Layout.) Thanks.

This is not a bad idea.
I use CM as my model Unit, but when acquiring area values, I use M². This is pretty standard in Brazil.

Pretty standard in the rest of the universe, too.
It would be nice to have a different unit setting for length, area and volume…

Feature request has been filed so maybe one day.
