Attempting to make SketchUp speak to Autodesk Inventor 2017

Our design team uses SketchUp to model most of our exhibit builds. Those files are then reinterpreted (redrawn) by our CAD developer using Autodesk Inventor 2017 to create actual build plans. This is never a smooth process and I’m looking for smoother alternatives. Is there any work around for importing those SU files into Autodesk to avoid having to redraw? Thanks in advance.

Are the builds created with cnc?

Depending on the final use you can export your model as a 3D model or a 2D “image” to the DWG or DXF format. Check that you are using a version old enough for the version 2017 to understand. AutoCad version 2013 ought to work.
