Arc with follow me pipe to another face leave a crescent shaped gap, How to fill gap?

Looks like all that worked!

Swingarm4.1 (1).skp (277.8 KB)

Is there a way to move the vertical pipe out toward the edge of the larger horizontal pipe?

This forum is great. It does gives tips and answers before I knew I have to do something similar for 3D-printing.

Thanks @DaveR and @Box.
Of course @Matt2430 for brining up this question.

@Matt2430, Do you see that you still do’t have an inner side of the upper tube?
Don’t try to repair too much, start over is often a solution. You can open a second drawing sheet and create some test models. Then copy the one that is the right one over to your work drawing.

I think that got fixed. Do you still see the issue?

From your screen shot it’s evident you still have no internal faces in the top tube. You’ve said the I.D. is constant through the tube so you shouldn’t see the shoulder, the face at the opposite end of the tube or even the back faces.

Since you seem to be having so much difficulty with getting the tubes to be hollow, how about changing tacks and do this a different way.

Start by making the three elements as solid groups or components. Leave the through holes in the stepped tubes for later. then use Outer Shell to combine them into one group. Finally, open the group for editing, use Offset to define the I.D. of the tube and use Push/Pull to push it through from one end to the other. Do this last part for both stepped tubes.

If this is a real life item,…
I would start over, as the parts don’t look quite right.
First - I’ll assume the upper and lower pipes need to be where they are.
Second, I would draw a 45 line off the upper pipe, and a vertical line up & down from the center of the lower pipe assembly.
Then radius the intersection of the two lines.
Once you have that, I would draw a circle (a smaller diameter than the lower pipe) below the lower pipe.
After that select the lines, click on the follow me tool, and select the circle.
That should give you a nice extruded pipe. intersect the whole component and delete the unwanted pipework, and you are all setPipe.skp (239.2 KB)

I drew a line up then selected the end and drew an arc to an endpoint. When I try to use the follow me tool, the program hesitates at the curve and draws it with a big hole in it…why??
