Adding 2mm round over to all edges of a twisted figure 8 shape

Full disclosure… The shape in question came from a FreeCAD part lesson video on YouTube.

I’ve been using SU Pro for 15+ years and I was able to get the exact shape needed. However, for the life of me, I can’t add a simple 2mm radius round over to the part like they did in FreeCAD with just a few clicks. Note that the original part is nominally 100mm x 225mm.

I tried the Bevel and the old school Fredo Round Corner extensions. No joy. I am also familiar with using Follow Me to add profile edges on shapes. Again, no joy.

I also used the “Dave R” methodology of scaling the component by 100x and trying the same set of tools, with a 2 x 100 radius for the round over. As before, no joy.

SU file attached. Any ideas out there?

BTW, there is a Tyson “boneyard” in the SKP file of groups and sub-components used to create the twisted figure 8. Visibility of the boneyard is controlled by the U: Boneyard tag. The flat shape was put together with basic circles, a line, and bezier curves. That flat shape was extruded and made into a component. Two of the extruded components were placed nose to tail, with one being rotated 90º. Those two intersecting extrusions were then joined together via the Solid Tools Intersect tool to create the new twisted figure 8 shape.

You should scale it by 100 and use meter as if they were millimeters, sketchup doesn’t handle well small geometry.

Considering how the geometry of that object looks now, it’s simpler and faster if you redraw it from 0. You start with a circle with 12 segments, Line and Mirror, and you get correct quad geometry that you can subdivide and then create that bevel.
