Hello folks! Here’s a sneak peek of my forthcoming SketchUp extension, ‘Orienter Express’. This tool is designed to effortlessly align groups and components according to the orientation of one or more edges. Barring any unforeseen hurdles, I’m targeting a rollout on the Extension Warehouse as early as next week or so.
Very cool! And I love the name!
looks interesting. it’d be a Crime not to test it out when it releases !
This looks really useful! I like the minimal setup steps to get the resulting orientations. I’ll think about ways I can use this in future SketchUp Trainings. Good idea!
Does it also include that the edge’s lengths could be used as scaling factors to stretch each component according to their lengths? Example: each pencil will have the length of the corresponding edge.
I’m currently working on that exact feature!
Lo vi en tu canal de YouTube, esta muy interesante y útil. También uso otro de tus plug-ins, spinup, esta muy bueno también, me ha ahorrado bastante tiempo.
Looks fantastic, bravo !
Done! Two new tools are joining: one is to center on edge, orient and z-scale and the other is to center on edge, orient and xyz-scale. I have to think about the name of these tools
A quick demo combining Orienter Express and the Flip tool from SketchUp
I am pleased to announce that Orienter Express has been officially approved by the Extension Warehouse and it will be released next Monday!
To give you a sneak peek of what’s in store, here’s the final trailer of Orienter Express:
That looks awesome!
Orienter Express works perfectly on Mac OS. The only thing missing are tool tips when hovering over the toolbar.
Great extension! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the feedback, I’ll have a look to the tooltips. Greetings!
Orienter Express is out now!
The not seeing tooltips is a bug in SketchUp on Mac. Drag the palette to the left of the screen, so that it becomes vertical. Close and reopen SketchUp, and the tooltips should then show.
So, we think this works on Mac even thought it’s not listed? Trying…
