5D+ Plus - Automate the creation of Construction Drawings

The colors of the last two pic would prohibit me from using the program (or any program) as I am simi color blind and can not distinguish what is there.

Just my 2 cents

well then… don’t use them ?

Cyentruk is showing what their extension is doing and showing it with different styles, they’re not forcing these styles on us

These English tutorials are very helpful. I would love to see more of them.

In the extension, are you able to use any desired font for the text (Calibri for example)?

Thank you.
Here’s another tutorial video in English to guide user draw land property from coordinates of points. Hope it helps.

Currently you can’t change the font for text. The text created by Curic Single-Line Text. They are letters in single lines.

@Cyentruk your work with this plugin is looking great!

Let me just ask you something: the texts, labels and dimensions you’re adding will export to CAD as texts or as lines?

Thanks in advance.

When export to DXF, it becomes lines. Because in SketchUp, they’re lines as well. They are created by Curic Single-Line Text plugin. But they can be edited and linked information and live update with objects.

There are a free trial in 30 days with subcription, you can install and use if you want to get more info, then cancel the subcribe before the trial end.

Don’t mind the testing, I’ll buy the 3 seats license. I’ve been following this for long and I should already have bought it, but haven’t had the time to really test it so I kept delaying. Even if I still don’t have the time, you definetely deserve the support!

I don’t know if I missed it, but does it have an area tool already?

Yes, it’s already.
Like this (I took this screenshot already while working). All labels you saw in the image are created automatically.

Great! And what’s the method for identifying how the area should be measured? (I’m sorry, I don’t want to make you loose too much time and maybe you’ve explained this elsewhere)

There are 2 way of using labels for you to get area:

  1. Using Material Label, this is require you choose face/faces, the area is the face 's area. But this way, you can not get the name of the group (parent of the face). But you can get the material name of face has been painted.

  2. Using Zone label: this is require you choosing the deepest group, then it get the largest face of the group. In my situation, I drawed a group as finishing layer of a room/zone. Then on top face of the group, I can devide to many small faces to paint material if I want, but the face in the bottom, I will keep it original with no splitted, that support me to get the largest face 's area, and that is the zone 's area.

With this way, not only I had the area, I can get name of the group as Room Name, and the definition name as Room Identity (ID).

It requires having a face in the model that correctly represents the area of a room, but in the 3D it might be impossible to have it.

I use almost the same method but create a specifc group for each plan scene. Inside that group I draw a face at the position of my section cut face, and intersect it with the model. I then hide or show the group with a Tag for areas. I use this group in Layout to retrieve areas.

What you’re saying is that, if I have such a group, I can use your area tool on it? Then can I hide it via tags? Or do you need a group for each room area?

There should be a proper area tool in Sketchup or Layout.

Yes, that’s correct. You can create Label for Rooms by select your groups then press button Zone Label, it will put each label on center of each group and extract area from largest face of each group. All labels have their own tag for each scene and auto show/hide when you switch between the scenes.

I got it a bit different. I have a single group with a lot of faces that result from intersecting a single face with the model.

I’ve read this again and maybe I can leverage this function to process areas

I’m starting to try the extension, so I’m also starting to ask you for requests:

First one:

Would it be possible to pick points in the model for levels?

As it is right now I’ll have to find math calculations or keep track of model changes manually. I’d rather pick an object and maybe, if that object gets moved, I get a warning to check levels again.

Also, shouldn’t floor height be the ceiling height and not the difference between levels?

It’s way easier to get the measurement tool to pick a point in floor and get it’s height than measure the distance between floors.

Also, slab thickness can change depending on construction technology, while floor levels should stay put during project development as you might want to keep your stairs heights fixed due to complex regulations. At least we should have the flexibility to choose which is the critaeria, instead of having to use a mandatory one.

Hello, the height of a storey is measured from top of this floor to the top of next floor (above).
